I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I received my PhD from the Department of Politics at New York University.
The main focus of my research is understanding  the sources, management, and consequences of intrastate and interstate conflicts. In particular, I am interested in the relationship between domestic political institutions and conflict. I have studied these topics cross-nationally, as well as in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Recently, I have started working on these issues also in the context of Syrian refugees in Turkey. My secondary area of interest is nuclear cooperation, and especially the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
My research has been published or accepted for publication in the American Political Science Review, British Journal of Political Science, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, Journal of Territorial and Maritime Studies, and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism.
